On friday (11/11) i came to the gig “A Step Further Away presented by No Exit Room” at Kopi Kohi Bandung, the event was held in the late afternoon with a drizzling rain and cup of coffee which made the atmosphere comfortable.
The bands involved in the event are Sunlotus, Swarm, Sunbath, CAL and Turnpike. In this event they have a different concept stage set initiated by No Exit Room.
They form a circle in the stage set! it was so eye-catching and intimate. A Step Further Away opened by Turnpike, they performing all single songs and also covering Teenage Fanclub and Ovens.
And the next band is Sunbath, with their catchy songs make the show more exciting. They also remind me to the 90s alternative rock era like The Breeders and Veruca Salt.
The third performer is CAL with modern shoegazing music and also a cover of Pine by Basement which made me sing a long and move my body.
After CAL, there was Swarm who set fire to the stage with angst and aggresive playing style and gave me goosebumps watching their performance and also they do envy song on their set.
The last performer was Sunlotus from Yogyakarta and they were on a weekend tour at that time titled “Redeafening This Old House Tour 2022”. They played their sets in tight looks and loud voices. And also they just released new single “Glass-Like Dream”.
No Exit Room managed to host several gigs with power of friends to make that night feels so intimate and fun at the same time.
